DESCRIPTION
Features an innovative reverse venting triple baffle design for the highest recoil reduction in its class. The M4-72 is an extremely lightweight (2.6 oz) and compact design that delivers industry leading recoil reduction of up to 75%. Closed bottom construction combined with upward biased venting effectively eliminates both muzzle rise and dust signature. Precision machined from heat treated stainless steel for superior durability, the M4-72 can withstand the extreme heat of combat conditions without being subject to rapid erosion. Available with an advanced Ionbond® high temperature CrCN coating (matte black), or stainless steel in-the-white (satin grey).
.223/5.56mm model is designed to fit M4/M16/AR15 style rifles and features 1/2-28 threads. Delivers industry leading recoil reduction of 73-75% for standard 223 Remington. Will accept many devices designed to fit over the standard A2 flash suppressor.
.308/7.62mm model is designed to fit any caliber from .243 Winchester up to and including 338 Lapua Magnum (6.5 Creedmoor, 308Win, 300WM, 30-06, 338LM, etc.) and features 5/8-24 threads. Delivers industry leading recoil reduction of 65-75% depending on the cartridge.
Warning: Reverse venting design may cause excessive blast/concussion on barrels shorter than 14.5" and on bullpup style rifles.
Also available in an AK-47 version with 14x1mm LH threads.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
When selecting a caliber for one of our muzzle devices, the correct choice is based on your cartridge's actual bullet diameter. For example; if you have a .300 Win Mag, you would select a 7.62/.308 muzzle device. This is because the bullet for that cartridge is a .308" diameter. For a more detailed explanation and examples, check out our Caliber Fit Guide.
You can, we just don't really recommend it. Reverse-venting brakes do just that; vent gases in the reverse direction from where they were traveling. This design is how such high recoil reduction ratings are achieved. But because of that, gases and concussion are directed back to the shooter. Barrels below 14.5" can cause these forces to be quite drastic to some individuals, and more extreme depending on what caliber you are shooting. For a more detailed description, you can read our Muzzle Brake Safety Memo here.

M4-72 SEVERE-DUTY® COMPENSATOR
Bought the M4-72 for my AR-10 because the recoil was just too much for me (old man with a bad shoulder). It worked so good, I bought one for my older brother.

M4-72
Approximately eighteen months ago, I procured a muzzle brake to subdue my Bergara B14 chambered in 300 Winchester Magnum. After having it installed for some time and discharging several rounds, I felt compelled to express my utter satisfaction with its performance. The highly effective device has vastly diminished the felt recoil of my weapon, making shooting sessions a delightful endeavor. As I age, the onset of joint inflammation in my shoulder has considerably undermined my physical ability. However, the said muzzle brake has mitigated this issue and allows me to discharge rounds without any undue discomfort or impediments.

Purchased based on YT review
I was looking for the best muzzle brake to reduce recoil on my AR-15 as much as possible. I resorted to YT, and someone used a sled to demonstrate various brakes. This one had the most reduction in recoil, so I looked it up here and bought it. It is amazing. The barrel doesn't seem to move the slightest even when rapid firing. The blowback will knock your hat off (sarcasm here), and make sure your hearing protection is on. It is definitely louder than anything I have on my other AR builds. But it is worth it, in my opinion.

50%+ Recoil Reduction
Thier claim of huge recoil reduction is 100% true, I was stunned. People behind you to your right or left won't like it, but that's okay. ?

Effective but loud
I bought this brake in 2016 and have run somewhere around 30,000 rounds through it on two different guns. It is hands down the best brake on the market once size and weight are taken into consideration. While there are a few brakes out there that have surpassed the recoil mitigation of the M4-72 (such as PA's own Hypertap), they are always longer, wider, and heavier. The M4-72 does 90% of what those other brakes do while being the same size as an A2 flash hider and only 2.6oz. It can also accept A2 mounted attachments like a BFA or a suppressor(?). (I haven't tested it with a can yet. I'm worried about excessive gas blowby where the machined wrench flats are.) The only downside to the M4-72 is severe noise and concussion and I do mean severe. This is hands down the most obnoxious brake of everyone in my gun club. Nobody will want to stand near you outside and don't even think about shooting with it indoors. This brake turns recoil into noise. That said, I absolutely recommend this brake and will buy another.

M4-72 compensator
If you want a compensator to tame muzzle rise and recoil this is the one you want. Very effective . This is the second one I’ve bought.

Wow!
I put this on a new 5.56 20' DMR build and wow, it decreases almost all of the felt recoil! I couldn't believe it! I've used other far more expensive brakes that didn't work this well. I'm a believer! It's awesome for the shooter but the guy next to you won't like it!
