▼ Customer Service Representative

Directly responsible for acting as a liaison between the customers and the company. Represent the company’s values when answering phone calls and responding to e-mails.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Answering phone calls and handling promptly and efficiently customer concerns.  This will require sales order recording, fulfilling, shipping, and invoicing
  • Take payment information and other pertinent information such as addresses and phone numbers.
  • Investigate customer\'s challenges and find solutions.
  • Provide backup support for all areas of customer service personnel.
  • Pack orders according to company procedures and ship product.
  • Make contact with current customers using phone, e-mail, internet, and other outreach means to maintain existing customer base and develop new customers.
  • Attend and assist in the planning of trade shows and events to sell and promote products.
  • Learn our ERP system for customer services and sales.
  • Assemble kits for the air products.
  • Be aware of and track supplies as they are used up.
  • Assist in continual and annual inventory for all products, as necessary.
  • Assist in the update of product catalogs, in store displays, direct mailings, and product packaging.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma, GED or Certification in higher education. An equivalent combination of education and or experience would also be considered.

  • Able to sit and work at a computer for extended periods of time and lift or move up to 50 pounds .
  • Basic computer application knowledge to include but not limited to MS Office products.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers.
  • Proven ability to listen carefully to and understand a customer’s situation.
  • Ability to remain patient and polite, particularly when dealing with a challenging customer.
  • Must work well in a team environment with an outgoing personality.

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

▼ Production Worker (Cross-Trained Manufacturing)

The Production Worker role is an entry and foundational manufacturing position at PM Research. Individuals hired into this role may be initially cross-trained across multiple production areas to evaluate skills, mechanical aptitude, safety awareness, and work preferences. Based on performance and business needs, employees will be assigned primary responsibilities in specific production areas and may receive additional specialized job descriptions as their role is defined.


General Responsibilities
Production Workers may be trained and assigned to perform work in one or more of the following areas:

  • Foundry operations including mold and core packing, ladling, casting handling, grinding, and inspection.
  • Air Production and thermal forming operations including film conversion and film installation.
  • Model and solar engine product assembly, testing, painting, patching, and packaging.
  • Sporting goods product assembly, finishing, inspection, painting, and packaging.
  • Machining support and CNC operations for qualified and trained employees.
  • In addition, Production Workers are expected to:
  • Operate grinders, saws, presses, air tools, and other manual production equipmen.
  • Perform in-process and final inspections using precision measuring devices.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and cleaning
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Follow work orders, work instructions, and engineering drawings
  • Consistently wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)

Equipment, Vehicles, and Material Handling:

  • Train and qualify to operate company vehicles, forklifts, cranes, hoists, and powered or non-powered vehicles (POVs) as required
  • Safely move materials, tooling, and finished goods between work areas
  • Operate equipment only after proper training and authorization

Training, Assignment, and Progression:

  • New employees may receive initial cross-training across multiple production areas
  • Primary work assignments will be determined based on demonstrated skills, performance, safety, and company needs
  • Employees may specialize in one area or remain flexible across departments
  • Employees demonstrating strong mechanical aptitude and reliability may be trained and assigned to CNC Machine Operator roles
  • As roles become more specialized, employees will be issued additional position-specific job descriptions

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Valid Class D driver’s license required.
  • Ability to independently travel between Plant 1 and Plant 2 (2 miles)as needed.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new processes.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to use or learn precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.).
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks requiring manual dexterity and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Basic math skills including percentages, weight, distance, and measurement calculations.
  • Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, temperature variation, vibration, moving machinery, vehicles, and overhead loads.
  • Reliable attendance is an essential function of the position.

▼ CNC Technician

The CNC Technician role is a highly skilled, independent manufacturing position responsible for advanced CNC setup, operation, troubleshooting, and process development across all the CNC platforms.

CNC Technicians play a critical role in transitional manufacturing development, support complex and non-routine machining challenges, and serve as technical leaders and mentors to CNC Operators and Production personnel.

CNC Technicians are expected to understand CNC programming fundamentals, including G-code and M-code, and to create, modify, and validate CNC programs directly at the machine to support manufacturing development and production requirements. Familiarity with CAM software is beneficial but not required.

Assignment to this role is based on demonstrated technical mastery, problem-solving capability, leadership, and the confidence of the Machine Shop Foreman, Plant Manager, and Director of Manufacturing Development.


General Responsibilities
CNC Technicians are responsible for independently performing advanced machining and technical functions, including:

  • Independently setting up and operating CNC lathes, mills, mill-turn (MX), and twin-turret machines for assigned work orders
  • Creating, modifying, and optimizing CNC programs directly at the machine using G-code and M-code
  • Tearing down existing setups and building new setups for both production and development work
  • Developing and validating machining processes for new, transitional, or complex manufacturing requirements
  • Running production parts as required to verify setups, programs, and quality
  • Troubleshooting advanced machining, tooling, fixturing, and program-related issues
  • Managing tooling strategies, offsets, inserts, and wear to maintain quality and repeatability
  • Performing advanced inspection and verification to ensure conformance to engineering requirements
In addition, CNC Technicians are expected to:
  • Perform routine and advanced machine maintenance, cleaning, and condition monitoring
  • Maintain organized tooling, fixtures, documentation, and work areas
  • Follow work orders, engineering drawings, setup documentation, and development notes
  • Consistently wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Lead and assist with leveling and calibration of new CNC machines.


Technical Leadership, Process Ownership & Coaching Support
CNC Technicians are expected to act as technical leaders within the machine shop and to support the Machine Shop Foreman through leadership, training, process ownership, and employee development activities.
In this capacity, CNC Technicians are expected to:

  • Lead and support training and mentoring of CNC Operators and Production personnel
  • Assist with onboarding, qualification, and skill development of CNC Operators on equipment, setups, and machining processes
  • Reinforce setup intent, process controls, machining standards, and quality expectations on the shop floor.
  • Take ownership of assigned machining processes, setups, or machine platforms
  • Help stabilize new or revised machining processes prior to full production release
  • Assist the Machine Shop Foreman with troubleshooting recurring machining, tooling, or quality issues
  • Reinforce machining standards, setup intent, and quality expectations on the shop floor


Coaching & Performance Review Support
As part of their technical leadership role, CNC Technicians are expected to contribute to coaching and performance development efforts, including:

  • Providing technical observations and feedback to the Machine Shop Foreman regarding CNC Operator performance
  • Contributing input related to setup quality, process adherence, troubleshooting ability, consistency, and reliability
  • Supporting coaching conversations by reinforcing expectations, standards, and best practices
  • Assisting in identifying training needs or skill gaps
  • Providing factual, job-related input to support performance review preparation when requested
CNC Technicians do not have direct supervisory authority unless explicitly assigned, but are expected to lead through technical expertise, professionalism, and reinforcement of standards.

Equipment, Vehicles, and Material Handling

  • Independently set up and operate CNC lathes, mills, mill-turn (MX), and twin-turret machining centers
  • Train and qualify to operate company vehicles, forklifts, cranes, hoists, and powered or non-powered vehicles (POVs) as required
  • Safely move raw material, tooling, fixtures, and finished parts between work areas
  • Properly handle, store, and protect high-value tooling, inserts, fixtures, and precision measuring equipment
  • Operate equipment only after proper training and authorization


Training, Assignment, and Progression

  • Assignment to the CNC Technician role is based on sustained performance, demonstrated independence, and technical leadership
  • CNC Technicians are expected to independently handle complex setups, program creation/modification, and non-routine machining challenges
  • CNC Technicians are actively involved in:
    • Transitional manufacturing development
    • New or revised process implementation
    • Process stabilization prior to production release
CNC Technicians are responsible for supporting training and qualification activities related to:
  • New or revised machining processes
  • Transitional manufacturing development
  • Advanced or complex CNC setups
CNC Technicians are responsible for training CNC Operators on:
  • Setup intent and sequencing
  • Program usage and safe operation
  • Process controls and quality expectations
This role represents one of the highest technical CNC positions within the organization.

Production Support & Workload Flexibility
Assignment to a CNC role does not limit responsibility to CNC-related tasks only. CNC Technicians are expected to actively contribute to general production work when CNC demand is low or when production priorities require additional support.

Requirements:

  • Progression from CNC Operator role or equivalent advanced CNC machining experience
  • Demonstrated mastery of CNC setup and operation across multiple machine platforms
  • Demonstrated ability to create, read, modify, and troubleshoot CNC programs using G-code and M-code
  • Advanced proficiency with precision measuring tools
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and advanced problem-solving capability
  • Ability to train, mentor, and communicate effectively with other employees
  • Demonstrate leadership and ownership within the organization
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Technical degree or machining certification preferred (experience may substitute)
  • Valid Class D driver’s license required
  • Ability to independently travel between Plant 1 and Plant 2 (2 miles) as needed
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
  • Reliable attendance is an essential function of the position


Position Scope
