DESCRIPTION

The Precision Armament Universal Front Cap (UFC) was engineered for shooters who recognize that suppressor performance is influenced by every component in the system—not just the suppressor core. Through scientific engineering, data-driven design, and precision manufacturing, the UFC delivers measurable improvements in suppressor sound performance.

Developed in Precision Armament’s state-of-the-art acoustic test laboratory using high-fidelity 1 MHz instrumentation, the UFC was optimized by measuring peak SPL, impulse, and first-round pop (FRP) at both the muzzle and the shooter’s ear. Testing confirmed that front-cap geometry plays an important and measurable role in sound balance and overall suppression, directly affecting what the shooter hears.

Rather than optimizing for a single cartridge or metric, the UFC was designed to achieve the quietest practical result across both supersonic and subsonic applications. The final design reflects deliberate geometric trade-offs to achieve overall quietness, with emphasis on shooter-ear sound reduction and consistent FRP behavior. The final geometry was selected from nearly 50 tested designs and incorporates subtle exit-bore disturbance features that promote controlled turbulent flow, validated in acoustic testing as beneficial for suppression.

The UFC is machined from high-strength, corrosion-resistant titanium and finished with a durable diamond-like carbon (DLC) coating to resist wear and cleaning-related abrasion. It is manufactured using Precision Armament’s proprietary Class 3+™ thread specification, which provides exceptional bore concentricity while offering the largest guaranteed fit clearance of any UN thread class, reducing the likelihood of carbon locking.

The UFC utilizes the OPEN SOURCE® front interface (1.420–24 UN), which is dimensionally identical to the SilencerCo® Bravo-pattern front-cap interface, making it compatible with Precision Armament suppressors as well as any suppressor that supports the SilencerCo® Bravo-pattern standard.
